Our start-up Deep Blue Globe is first price winner of the European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) 2018, now called Galileo Masters, in the regional challenge of Hesse! Mario Castro de Lera and Pablo Ruiz Sanchez were honoured at the ceremony in Marseille on Tuesday, 4th December 2018. Second and third price went to SoundReply and Karuna.
Deep Blue Globe has developed a maritime autonomous navigation solution called POSEIDON. It considers real time maritime traffic and weather conditions to save fuel, time and money to maritime operators, while at the same time, it increases safety of operations and reduces gas emissions.
With their idea POSEIDON they are also one of the winners of the EGNSS Accelerator special prize, being among the first 4 in Europe. Ruiz Sánchez and Castro de Lera were invited to this special challenge as they were among the first 10 best ideas of the international Galileo Masters.
2nd price winner of the Hesse Challenge, SoundReply, is building the digital replica of a coach that onboards and supports deskless workers, with the ultimate goal of enabling everyone to master any skill by democratizing professional expertise on earth and beyond.
3rd price winner Karuna, incubated at ESA BIC in Darmstadt, empowers people under the poverty line by transferring daily microdonations through blockchain and mobile banking solutions for participation in education programs with 90% efficiency.
The ESNC/Galileo Masters annually awards the best services, products, and business ideas using satellite navigation in everyday life. The competition is organized by AZO Anwendungszentrum Oberpfaffenhofen GmbH. cesah is Galileo Regional Partner and Copernicus Regional Associate. The ESNC/Galileo Masters today is the leading network for satellite navigation. This year there have been 266 complete submissions from 40 countries for the Galileo Masters 2018.
